About Shotzy.com

Shotzy.com is my attempt to document my thoughts and progress as an individual investor. I began investing at the age of 23, mainly because of my desire to live a better life than the one I had growing up. I always was interested in talking to people who I perceived as intelligent and “rich” - you know, they had a nice house, didn’t appear to have money issues, heck, they maybe always had or phone or never lived in a trailer. Anyway, not sure if there was any one person that turned me on to investing, I just new if you had money, you should invest it to make more. So, that’s what I figured I needed to do - as soon as I ever figured out how to be in a position to make money.

Since then, I have busted my ass to try to make a good living. I have enjoyed decent financial success, mostly because of my desire to live a better life and a good work ethic. I believe I was also given a pretty good mind, so I have been able to capitalize on various business ideas when they arise.

I have been saving and investing for close to 10 years now and am looking forward to being completely free of the stress of “needing to make money”. I think most people, if they new my financial situation, would say I should just retire now. But, I know I am not there yet, but with continued discipline and hard work, I will be soon.

The majority of the U.S. doesn’t save, which is one of the reasons the gap widens between rich and poor. I know many don’t have the opportunities, but I think a good work ethic and a desire to succeed are all you need. I know, because I am a living example.
